DirectoryThe phone directory contains a list of PTA members (who wish to be in the directory). The PTA directory is given as a benefit & incentive to our PTA membership. Fitness Fair(Bi-Annual-Winter) Fun event for the entire family. Participate in various activity-based booths designed to help teach healthy living and food choices in a fun manner. Participate in different forms of physical activities. Learn about healthy eating and taste healthy foods all while having fun together as a family!
Fun Fair(Winter) Plan a large family event, with games, food, a redemption center and a silent auction of themed gift baskets at the fun fair.
Fundraising (Ways and Means)-Fall FundraiserFamilies can sell items to others we encourage you to participate in the (Fall) Annual school fundraiser (usually wrapping paper).
Fundraising (Ways and Means)-ConcessionsSnacks and beverages available for purchase at the school play and musical events throughout the year.
Fundraising (Ways and Means)-Direct DonationsFamilies can choose to make an annual 100% tax deductible direct donation to the VL PTA with 100% of direct donation money going to support our programs that enhance our students’ educational environment and experiences.
Fundraising (Ways and Means)-Spiritwear SaleStudents and Adults may pre-order clothes (sweatshirts, t-shirts, shorts, etc.) with the VL logo and then get to wear them all year!
Fundraising (Ways and Means)-Spring Flower Sale(Spring) Pre-order flowers for your garden or mother for Mother's Day. Additional flowers will also be available for purchase on the date of the sale pick up.
Garage Sale(May) VL families receive a tax receipt for donations of gently used items and to be sold at the VL Garage sale. Any unsold items will be donated to charity. All proceeds will go to benefit VL PTA programming.
Grandparent's DayStudents and their grandparent or special guest celebrate the generations with activities and refreshments after school one afternoon in fall.

Health & SafetyAssist school nurse with Vision and Hearing Screenings (Fall), Mobile Dentist (Spring). Parents are also able to sign up to donate blood at the district 15 Blood Drive.

Market DayFrozen/prepared foods can be ordered to help raise money for VL. Food is delivered to VL and families pick up their orders after school on designated dates.
Multi-Cultural Fair(Bi-Annually-May) This evening event in spring celebrates all the various cultures at VL and around the world. Volunteer to share your culture or ancestral heritage with other VL families. (Volunteer as a group or as a family.) Each country has their own booth for materials. Volunteers can share information, photos, artifacts, food, music, dance, or a craft. The possibilities are endless and can be simple or as elaborate as you make it.
MembershipCoordinates Fall PTA membership drive and (January) PTA family members roller skating Party. No charges for PTA members or you can become a member of the PTA at this event, then skate free (skate rental is extra or bring your own skates).

Parent's Book ClubParents read 2 children's chapter books each month and provide reviews in the school monthly newsletter and other helpful resources. Reviews are meant to be a helpful guide when assisting children in finding age appropriate books.
Physical Activity CommitteeThe goal of this committee is to provide opportunities for increased physical activity to our students and create an awareness of the need & benefits of physical activity to VL students and families.

Reading ProgramProvide the Six Flags and Schaumburg Flyers reading programs. Students read a required amount of time, document reading and earn free tickets to Six Flags and/or Flyers Baseball game.

Re-gifted Resources(November) Coordinates Family donations of gently used books, games and educational materials to be used in the classrooms & for in-door recess.

Service LearningCommittee assists Mrs. Turner with the 4th & 5th grade Service Club students. Service projects range from food drives, counting Box tops/soup labels/pop tops for redemption and other service-related projects of their choice throughout the year.
School BeautificationCommittee helps beautify our school with plants and decorations in the school courtyard and landscaping around the building.

School Play(winter) 5th & 6th grade students audition for parts and participate in preparing, staging, creating sets, and performing in a school play.
School Supply Kits(spring) Pre-packaged school supply kits are available for purchase containing all the consumable school supplies your child will need for their grade level. Paid orders are taken in spring for the following school year. Supply kits will be delivered directly to school and ready in your child's classroom for the start of school.
Sixth Grade CelebrationCommittee coordinates and hosts an end of the year party for the "graduating" sixth grade class.
Spring DancePlan and host school Spring Dance (April). The themed dance is a fun event that takes place in the evening. The whole family is invited to share in the fun!
Teacher Appreciation(May) Coordinates the recognition of our exceptional teachers and staff through various activities.
TranslationsCommittee helps in getting PTA documents translated for our bilingual families.
